Sharon J. Paul holds the Robert M. Trotter Chair of Music at the University of Oregon, where she serves as Director of Choral Activities and Chair of Vocal and Choral Studies, teaching graduate courses in choral conducting, repertoire, and pedagogy, and conducting the internationally award-winning Chamber Choir.
Dr. Paul has presented interest sessions at regional, state, division, national, and international music conferences, including in 2017 at the World Symposium on Choral Music in Barcelona, Spain, and at the American Choral Directors Association’s National Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She appears frequently as adjudicator, clinician, and honor choir director throughout the United States, with recent engagements in California, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Utah, Washington, Nevada, and Texas.
She has prepared choirs for performances under world-class conductors such as Matthew Halls, Helmuth Rilling, Marin Alsop, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Herbert Blomstedt. In the fall of 2014 she received the University of Oregon’s Fund for Faculty Excellence Award.
