Grand Prix Finalists will be selected at the discretion of the jury, and may or may not include all Category Champions. The jury’s decision is final and cannot be contested. The Grand Prix Competition will take place on 2 August 2020 at the Esplanade Concert Hall.
Choirs selected for the Grand Prix Competition are required to sing two songs up to a maximum performance time of 10 minutes based on the following criteria:
1. A new piece not performed before in the competition rounds
2. Either a song previously performed from the category of competition that won the choir a place in the Grand Prix, or another new piece.
Choirs selected for the Grand Prix are to submit 10 original scores of both pieces to the organisers for the purpose of adjudication on the day of the Grand Prix.
Grand Prix Finalists will be ranked based on their performance and the choir with the highest average rank among the panel will be awarded Grand Prix Champion and a cash prize of SGD$5,000. The SICF Grand Prix Champion will also qualify for the 2ndAsia Grand Prix for Choral Singing to be held in Bali, Indonesia in 2021. The champions of each of the following qualifying festivals will vie for the highest accolade in the Asian choral festival circuit: Singapore International Choral Festival, Bali International Choral Festival, Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod and the Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival.
